It's Bristol Baby!!

This weekend was the Spring NASCAR race in my town of Bristol. It seemed kind of sad this time, because there was hardly anyone here for it! We drove through traffic yesterday morning, and the campgrounds were fairly (really) empty. March is too early for a race in east TN! It always rains, sometimes snows, and today was another example of bad weather. They just finished the race about 20 minutes ago. It was supposed to begin at 1:00, and it's now 10. It rained off and on all day, and they kept having to dry the track. It's also chilly outside. I'm glad I watched from the comfort of my mom's house. I enjoy the August race, but this one needs to be held later, like in April or May.

Another thing they could do to boost attendance is lower the ticket prices. Actually, a lot of people get them in giveaways because since they "fixed" the track, no one wrecks and tempers are under control so the race isn't as exciting. I miss the old Bristol.... Hopefully, this fall my boyfriend and I will go hang out. The August race is one huge party!

Sunday Morning, full of grace

Hello! It's Sunday! It's also rainy, and it's Bristol race weekend. So is it really any surprise that it is raining? Not to me, it isn't. I wish they'd schedule the race for a couple weeks later in the year. It is so sad down there, because there's hardly anyone camping! The campgrounds are empty and I feel like there is hardly anyone here. Ticket prices could also go down a whole heck of a lot! Jeren went to the race yesterday, but I went to....

I love going over there! It only takes a little over an hour, and there is always something fun to do. We went to a random flea market, where I made a cat friend. We went to the Goodwill outlet, which is always exciting because you find the weirdest stuff there. You pay by the pound, so it's kinda cool. We went to Mr. K's books, which I love. I only got two books though. I got a Star Wars shirt from Hamrick's for $4!! It was originally from Old Navy too.

We stopped and seen my aunt on the way home. It was definitely a fun day!

Molly

This little brat up here is Molly. She is my best buddy, but she has been getting in trouble left and right here lately! She keeps running off when it's potty time, and she gets into the litter and trash all the time. It's driving me crazy! I don't know how to keep her from messing in the cat box! She's sweet as she can be, but when her breath smells like poo, I don't want her kisses. Any tips on this area? Anyone a cat litter box police expert? 

Today is my day off and I wanted to take the dogs on a walk, but it's snowy and so cold! I woke up way too early at 4 a.m. I called Jeren and got started cleaning. I spent about an hour cleaning my bathroom, my kitchen, and doing some laundry.

 Now I am blogging and watching Once Upon a Time. I am just starting this series on Netflix, but I love it! Any fellow OUAT lovers out there? 

Amazon Prime

Does anyone use Amazon Prime and the Instant Video streaming service they provide? I am finding it hard to find anything to watch on Netflix, and I was thinking of getting an Amazon Prime membership. I have a Kindle Fire so another benefit to the Prime for me would be the Lending Library. I just would like to know some tales of experience before I decide. I could do the free trial but I don't want to use it just yet. I want to hear about other people's experiences first.

I am watching the Vampire Diaries tonight. I'm in the beginning of season two I think. I might still be in one, I don't know. I watch it on and off again. I wish I could stick to it and make progress, but working full time kind of kills the time I have to watch TV! Not that I am complaining, but I do miss all the free time I had.
When it comes to work, I've stopped talking with most people who work there. I just keep to myself, I'm not completely rude, I still speak but on break, I just pull out my Kindle and keep to myself. I don't want to be sucked into a bunch of drama that's always going on, and I'm not going to be on the "favorites list" or the "in crowd". I don't want to be in the "in crowd" there anyway, because those people are not the type of people I really want to have as my friends. The best thing that came from working there is my man (that's where we met).

My dogs and I are about to head to bed. It was a beautiful day here in Tennessee, and I took advantage of it. Watching two kids and three dogs wears a person out though! It was nice to see the sun shine and be able to spend time outside.

Blogging From the Recliner Tonight

I usually write my posts in my bed, because I don't have a desk. Tonight, I'm sitting in my recliner that Jeren always sits in. I came home to clean instead of going to see him and I miss him. I am going to read some more of my book in a few minutes. I'm currently reading Emma by Jane Austen. This is my first time reading it, and I'm slowly making my way through it. I generally enjoy books that I can speed through, but I am making progress in this one. It's hard to keep up because it bounces back and forth in quotes, and doesn't always say who's exactly speaking. It's all right so far though. It is different from what I usually read.

I cleaned around the house some tonight. I try to do something every day, but I usually take one night to do it really well. I hurt my finger somehow when I was cleaning the bathtub and it is sore now. I am glad I finally got the laundry put up... except I remember now that I forgot another load that is in the dryer.

Well, I'm off to put up that load. Maybe.

Hot Date Tuesday Night

Last night, Jeren and I went on the HOTTEST date we've ever been on! We went to the MedExpress and got my ear cleaned out again! It's only been a little over three months since I had it done, but it got impacted again. It drove me CRAZY at work yesterday, not being able to hear but on one side. Jeren is sooo nice that he went with me, and sat with me. It didn't take very long but I would have been bored without him. He just played on the phone and made me laugh. The doctor was really nice, I liked her a lot. The girl who cleaned my ears out was really nice too, and she was gentle about it.  It didn't hurt or anything but I got a little dizzy for a minute. It was awesome at that moment when I could hear again! It's just a miracle in itself, especially since I went so long the last time without being able to hear out of my right side. I got a prescription ear drop to use to try to keep this from happening again.

After that, we went to our usual Applebee's and ate, came home, and slept. Big night, right?
But that's ok, because I love being able to just spend time together. We have the day off, but I have to get up and take the dogs to the groomer here soon. Shelby, Thomas, and Molly are all lined up and lying right beside me. Thomas is such a Momma's boy!

Yes, Thomas is sitting on Shelby's head! They sat like that for two or three minutes before I even noticed. It would have probably continued if I hadn't scared Shelby with the flash. Oops.

Monday Again...

Today is Monday again, but it's almost over. I love only working two days in a row then having a day off, because it's just awesome. The first day back always goes quick, and then you're evening and next day are completely free on the second and it's great. I love that feeling. It is bitterly cold outside again, and the roads are wet so I came home instead of going to Jeren's tonight. We are actually off together on Wednesday, so we are going to get to spend some serious time together.

I read the book Gone Girl yesterday. I had started it and had to make myself finish it- but it was worth it! I actually hated the ending when I was done, but thinking back on it I think it was perfect. I'm not sure if I would read it again, but I will see the movie when it comes out. I think Bradley Cooper is playing Nick, so that will definitely make me want to watch it ;) Never mind, it is Ben Affleck!! He's all right, but I prefer Brad.

What are you reading right now? I hope you have a good evening, it's time to read some more! I started a classic today, Emma by Jane Austen. I've never read it but I have always wanted to. I am trying to read all these free books I downloaded on my Kindle!

Weekend Update

Hello! I've been slacking in posting on my own blog. This is just a quick update about my weekend!

Saturday: work, just another Saturday at Sam's. Not too bad. After work, I went to Jeren's. He picked out a movie and to my pleasant surprise, it was Disney/Pixar's  Monsters University! It was a good movie and I hadn't seen that one yet. I enjoyed it.

Today was another beautiful day, and after church and Sunday dinner, we took advantage of it! Kaden, Kiley and spent some time jumping on the trampoline! That thing has been through so much over the years but it is still standing and safe. I enjoyed the time spent with them. Kiley enjoyed being held and jumped with, she just smiled and giggled! 

There was a lot of talk about the upcoming Florida trip as well. I'm so stoked! What do you have to recommend about the Orlando area, Universal Studios, and Sea World? Also Clearwater Beach area?

Time to hit the sack! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Wednesday Update...

This week has just been full of work! The sun has came out the past couple of days, and it was out a little bit this morning. The weather is just so weird anymore! We had a thunderstorm about 6 this morning, which was nice. I had my dogs in bed with me and didn't have to get up, so it was nice. I was off today, so I didn't have to get up any certain time and it was nice.

Molly is leaning on my arm as I write this. It is kinda uncomfortable, but I guess I'll let her stay. She and I went for a walk this morning, and rode around listening to some music. It was nice to have the windows down a little bit!

Valentine's Day was fun! Jeren and I actually went out the night after to Shoku, my favorite little Japanese restaurant. We got all dressed up and cute!

These were my flowers, and Ellie the Elephant! We rescued her from Walgreens. See, I'm a good girlfriend! I let him wait until all the Valentine stuff was 50% off! I like being thrifty, so I don't mind to be a cheap girlfriend at all :)

I am cooking some chicken burritos in the crock pot and they smell SO GOOD! I can't wait to eat them.

I am watching Army Wives, which is one of my favorite shows. I love the interwebbing stories and it makes me admire the ones who live like that in real life. 

I also colored my hair a dark red, auburn type color! I love it, and so does everyone else. I got a lot of complements on it at work yesterday. I used a creme type dye and it was so much simpler than I had used in the past. I hope it holds true to color for a long time, but I guess we will see! 

Pit Bulls...

Pit bulls have a bad reputation in the media. I own a mixed breed of one, and a Cavalier Spaniel. The only one who has bitten me is Molly, the spaniel. I got Shelby from the pound, but it turned out I knew who had her before! She had gotten loose when her other mom had moved away and she didn't show up at the pound until a few months later, after she had given up on anyone finding her. Shelby is sweet and calm, and as long as she gets loved on she's the happiest girl in the world. She doesn't even get jealous, but she loves to be the center of attention. She is older, and she has never growled at anyone. It aggravates me how the media portrays the dogs. The Michael Vick case is probably the most famous, but there are constanly dog fighting rings that are broken up. It breaks my heart and I would love to dognap all of those dogs and raise them, but I'm not able to do that. I don't see how people can be so mean. Pits are such smart dogs, they will do anything their master wants them to do. That's where there downfall is, because if someone wants to make them mean, they will be mean. I'm not going to deny that some are mean but I wholeheartedly believe that they are raised to be that way. It works the same with people.

Out of all the dogs I've ever met, the smaller dogs were the more vicious! I used to be scared of German Shepherds but I've never had a bad experience. Most of the Chihuahuas I've met have growled or snapped at me. My boyfriend's cousin has a Jack Russell terrier that is cranky and snappy too. I know that dog has not been mistreated or anything either, I think it's "small dog syndrome!" What's your experiences with Pitbull types of dogs?

There is so much snow falling here today! Jeren still went to work, and I can't wait for him to get off! The snow is pouring and I want to go sledding. I have enjoyed spending this snowy morning with my furbabies though. I have been watching Army Wives on Netflix, but now I am listening to love songs radio since it is almost Valentine's Day.

Why We Work- Link Up!

Jeren and I will have been officially together for two years on March 29. It has been a wild and crazy ride since the first night we met at Sam's Club. Truth be told, we didn't like each other very much at first! He was a know-it-all and I thought I knew it all, even though I was just beginning my job there.

After a few months we hung out with a mutual friend, and found that we had a connection. It just was magical! Seriously, though, we could talk about anything and we had a lot in common. We liked a lot of the same music but we had completely different movie tastes.

He is a very handy-man type of guy. He is a problem solver and he can fix so many things. He has worked on my house and my car, and he always does a fantastic job. I'm not a problem-solver, I am a problem causer! (Haha- I can laugh at myself!) He used to rescue me at work when I had to build furniture because I never knew what I was doing!

We work because we have grown together the past two years. We have open and honest commuication, even when it is something that one of us doesn't want to hear. I think that is the biggest thing, because we don't hide things from each other. He can see right through me if I tried anyway!

We work because we are able to laugh and have a good time. We've had so much fun, from going to NYC and random places along the way, to staying at home having lazy evenings with our animals. He also has grown to love my Molly girl. Who wouldn't love this spoiled little face?

We work because we both want each other and we are willing to do what it takes. I am so proud of my boyfriend and I try to make him feel special every day. I know we both have failures and troubles but we help each other through it. I don't know why he loves me the way he does but I am so very thankful that God has blessed me with him!

Hey Jude....

It's been 50 years since the Beatles first ROCKED America! It would be have crazy to be there in NYC at the Ed Sullivan show when this event happened. I am a huge Beatles fan and I always will be. I think Paul was the cutest, and he still is. I watched part of the special they had on CBS tonight with my mom, and it was really good! I hate that I had to leave so I could come home though, so I missed the best part.... Paul and Ringo performing together! I hope to catch it on Youtube sometime. Or maybe it will come out on DVD or something.

I can't pick just one Beatles song to be my favorite, but I do love Hey Jude! I also love Revolution, Don't Let Me Down, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Come Together, and Yesterday. Strawberry Fields Forever was also another favorite of mine! 

If you haven't seen this movie, you are totally missing out! It is basically a Beatles musical, and it tells an awesome story. My boyfriend and I both liked it! I think it is a realistic look at how life was in the 60s in America. Plus, it has Jim Sturgiss in it... Just look at him!

The Broadway show Rain was awesome! I got to see it for freeeee!! (Thanks, Brandon!) It was great, like an awesome concert of the Beatles, except it wasn't really them. But the show was awesome. Even my Broadway-disliking family loved this show!
